Happy Jack Pancake House
We went to Happy Jack Pancake House on a Sunday during my friend’s bachelorette weekend. After waiting about 30 minutes to be seated, we were really excited to eat, but the experience started off a little rocky.
Our server had a bit of an attitude from the jump. My friend kindly asked if she and her fiancé could have their check together (since they were seated at separate tables), and the server just brushed it off, saying it wasn’t her table and that she didn’t care. When my friend tried to clarify, the server got noticeably annoyed, which felt really unnecessary.
Then, while she was going over the specials, one of the people at our table was talking, and she actually tapped him on the head — thinking it was funny, I guess — but it caught all of us off guard. It just felt inappropriate. When it was mentioned, she said, “I didn’t even hit him hard,” which didn’t really make it any better.
We asked for a new server after that, and thankfully we got Jenny — she was amazing! Super kind, attentive, and really helped make the rest of the meal enjoyable. She even looked out for one of our friends who wasn’t feeling too great.
All in all, the food was good and it turned out to be a nice brunch in the end, but the first part of the experience definitely threw us off. I just hope the situation gets addressed, because customer service really makes a difference.

Not a single real complaint on anything I tried. They have very unique menu options with some things I haven't seen anywhere else. Cookie dough on pancakes? What!?
The peanut butter pancakes, Nutella cookie dough, and s'mores French toast? All phenomenal. They absolutely DO NOT skimp on the toppings/mix-ins like a lot of places. I've lost track of the number of times at other restaurants where the top pancake has all the good stuff and then there's almost nothing left for the rest.
Biscuits and gravy were great and the potatoes were perfectly crispy. Could have used a bit more seasoning on the latter, but no biggie. Place was absolutely slammed, but service was fast, friendly, and without skimping on quality.

Our waitress’ name was Brittany. We loved Brittany. She was well educated on what was gluten free for me to eat, gave us a whole apron tour (my mom was interested in getting the same one for her job), and was overall a delight! This is the only restaurant I look forward to going to every year for breakfast. It has a whole gluten free breakfast menu, whereas most places have eggs as the only option. And they have Brittany…who was wonderful.
