The OC Air Show 2023 is once again taking to the skies, captivating spectators with its breathtaking aerobatic displays, powerful military demonstrations, and a celebration of aviation excellence. This annual event, on the shores of Ocean City, Maryland, brings aviation enthusiasts and families to witness a thrilling aerial display.
At Explore OC, the Air Show is one of our favorite annual events in town and we can’t wait for this weekend. The demonstrations will take place this weekend on June 10th and 11th. Grab your spot from 13th St. to 17th St. on the beach for the best views of the performers. Speaking of the performers, let’s dive into who you’ll see there!
2023 OCMD Air Show Performers
- U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds
Watch them fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon with daring formations and solo maneuvers as fast as 1,000 mph!
- F-35 Lightning II Demo Team
The most advanced stealth fighter in the world will perform for approximately 15 minutes, flying as low as 200 feet from the ground at 700 mph.
- F-18 Rhino Demo Team
See demonstrations from the Navy’s workhorse carrier-based fighter, weighing 44,000 pounds.
- A-10 Thunderbolt IIs
The "Warthog", and “Tank Killer” is a single-pilot attack aircraft utilized for short takeoffs and landings from primitive airfields.
- Red Bull Air Force
You’ll get to see humans fly with the most experienced aviation experts and jumpers from around the world!
- Air Force Heritage Flight
Travel back in time with the fighter aircraft from years past, flying alongside today’s modern fighter.
- Navy Legacy Flight
Two F-35C Lightning IIs and an F4U Corsair take to the skies in a display of the Navy’s past and present aviation.
- West Point Parachute Team
Watch The Black Knights, the United States Military Academy’s Freefall demonstration and competition team!
- C-17 Globemaster III
The C-17 is the newest and most flexible cargo aircraft in the force with incredibly agile abilities.
- UH-72A Lakota
This light utility helicopter has important jobs like search and rescue operations, medical evacuations, and more in non-hostile environments.
- E-2C Hawkeye
Also known as “Hummer”, this aircraft is recognizable by the large, rotating radar dome on top of the plane.
- L-39 Cold War Era Jet Demo
This Czechoslovakian aircraft flew for the first time on November 4, 1968. Many are used nowadays for training or personal jets.

Visitors from all over got lucky with the weather during Air Show weekend with clear skies and perfect beach temperatures! The air quality cleared up just in time as well after speculation that the show might need to be canceled. However, the show went on as planned, performing to a packed audience on the beach and tons of boats out in the water.
The photos captured by our team this year are jaw-dropping, showcasing the incredible displays of flight and even a glimpse of the sound barrier breaking! An amazing experience for all in attendance!
